Car Alarms: Car alarm problems-HELP!!!, valet mode, conversion van

Question
I have a 1995 Chevy full size conversion van that i bought about 3 months ago.  It has an Automate alarm installed which I have never used.  When I came out to my van this morning, the light was flashing like it is armed.  I tried pushing the button on the remote, but nothing happened.  I do not have any manuals on this alarm, and I would really hate to make my neighbors angry because I cant shut it off.  Can you help?

Answer
You should be able to put the system into valet mode.  This will disable the security features of the system.  There will be a small switch under the driver's side dash that serves as the valet button.  To operate it turn your ignition key to the run position and then to the off position and press the button.

This procedure can very from system to system and model to model.  If you go to this website, pick automate from the drop down menu then pick your model you can get an owner's manual for your system that would explain how to over ride the system (put it in valet mode) in much better detail.
