Car Alarms: auto security, dodge service, dodge durango

Question
Getting back with you to be more specific.
I just put in an engine in my 98 dodge durango.  I was out driving it and it was running great.  No problems.  I was in and out of the car several times.  Then I came to a stop and my car just died.  From there we tried to start it back up and motor tries to start, but won't turn over.  None of the gages work.  When we leave the key on there is a relay that continuely ticks but we tried it in the horn spot and it works there.  There is nothing going off.  The horn is silent.  No lights are flashing.  There is a red security light in the dash that is on when the key is out of the ignition.  when I try to start it the light will go off and the moter will attempt to start but no fire.  There is no check engine light on either.  Thanks for getting back with me so quickly the first time.

Answer
Yeah, this is a power distribution problem I think.
It's an issue because it also powers and activated
the factory system as well, but that's only a
symptom of a bigger overall power problem.

Best bet is to go to Dodge, put it on the diagnostic
and see if any master fuses are blown, reseting
the codes may reset back to normal, or to
see if it's a missed wire etc....
But no, it's not the factory security
malfunctioning, or the guages imputs because
power etc would work, just horn, lights and
that's it for "security" in this truck.
No starter kill or any immobilizers either.

Nope, call the Dodge service dept on Monday to
get in there and find out what happened, or what you
might have missed when reasembling the igintion wires.

I hope it's an easy fix for ya.
