Car Alarms: No response Code Systems, Inc remote start alarm on 04 Mountaineer, valet mode, fcc id

Question
Hello, this is Chris

I purchased a used 04 Mountaineer and was told by the dealer in advance that the aftermarket alarm on the car was not working and was not going to be tampered with and was sold a factory keyfob.  I would really like to use the alarm on the car as it appears to be an alarm equip with keyless entry and remote start.  The keyfob is in like new condition but it has no response.  No flashing LED, Nothing.  The manufacturer is CODE SYSTEMS, INC.  FCC ID: GOH-FRDPC2002.  The first thing I did was replace the battery on the remote.  Still no response.  I am an auto alarm novice as I have always used factory keyless and that's it.  I tried programming the remote to the car as read in the owners' manual and still nothing.  Is the system junk or do you have any suggestions because we cannot afford Best Buy's similar $400 or $500 security system?  Thanx in advance, We appreciate it!!

Answer
The best way to identify what you have,
and to get on the right track here is to
go to www.remotesunlimited.com  or
www.autotechs.com  or  www.keylessride.com
and identify the alarm. Then you might
be able to locate the website for the company
and get the user instruction manual.

You may be in an overide or "valet" mode
purposely so they could sell the truck.
You may find there was a reason they
stopped the functions of the alarm.

Procede, but be carefull and know how
to disable it as well, just in case.

Good luck with your hunt.
