My factory alarm was activated sometime during the day. Now my keyfob will not disable the alarm system and the DIC is indicating the ignition cut off has engaged. Opening the door with the key does not reset the alarm system. Roadside assistance operator say I have to get it towed to a dealer for reprogramming. This doesn't sound right. Is there another way to reset this system.

Unlocking the driver's door with your key will disarm the content theft alarm.  Make sure you do that first, then turn your ignition to the run position and wait ten minutes.  This may reset the security system allowing you to start the vehicle.  If this does not work then you will have to take it to the dealer to have it reset.
