Car Alarms: astra 1000 car starter, hot glue, key cylinder

Question
Thank you.  I will suggest this to them.  They are telling me now that I should just loose a key to the remote start system so I can at least use another key to start the vehicle if the problem continues.  They also said they had a problem with another 98 Navigator once before.  Same problem, anti-theft would not allow vehicle to start.  Other than what you've suggested; do you know of 98 Navigator specific problems?

-----Question-----
I had a local store install an Astra 1000 on my 98 Lincoln Navigator.  It always works for about 24 hours then the vehicles anti-theft unit keeps it from starting.  They have picked up the vehicle three times now from the locations it died, then re-aligned the chip into the center of the start ring but this is getting really old.  Do you know of any quirks with installing this system on a 98 Navigator?
-----Answer-----
Doug,
Suggest to the installer that once they find
the "sweet spot" for the bypass ring, that allows
for it to start remotely every time, to
put a couple of dabs of hot glue to secure
it in place. No movement=no problems.

Let me know if that solves it.

Answer
Nope.
  We successfully install into Expeditions
on a daily basis so, I suggest that if
they are not doing they're best to momentarilly
disable the PATS system in the ignition, then
tell them to permanently disable it.

This is what I think you should do...

Go get 2 non transponder keys cut at
the hardware store for 3 bucks each.
Get a universal bypass module (key-in-a-box style)
at www.REMOTESTARTCENTRAL.com for 25.00.

Then wrap the coil around the key cylinder,
secured in place with hot-glue..connect the
status input wire to chassis ground and the
positive to ignition...no more transponder
key required. This eliminates the problem.

Besides, the total cost on this is
substantially less than what a dealership
would charge to keep messing with it.

This is what will work instead of the
dealerships profit margin.
