Car Alarms: DLR4 Install Dodge Dakota 04, ohm resistor, alarmtek

Question
Thank God for you! I purchased the DLR4 on Ebay and have not been able to find good install instructions for it. I called a few locations (and actually spoke to a company in C.A.- VERY RUDE!).

My question should hopefully be quick and simple for someone with your expertise. The pdf file I have states that I need to use a 330ohm and 820ohm resistor for the installation. Is that correct? Why doesn't the manufacturer incorporate this into the "brain", or at least provide them inside the retail box? This is like buying a computer without the hard drive!

What are the specs for the resistors? Do I need a 1/4 watt, 1/2 watt?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
ok, on the Dodge locks,
set up the Micro DLR4 as a
3 wire negative door lock system
and:

For Lock

GROUND THROUGH A 315 OHM RESISTOR.
IF THE LOCKS GO TO SLEEP, PULSE
THIS WIRE ALONG WITH THE DRIVER'S DOOR PIN,
OR USE THE ILL. ENTRY WIRE IF THE UNIT
IS EQUIPPED.

and
For Unlock:

USE 820 OHM RESISTOR OR
A 620 OHM RESISTOR

Since the DLR4 is basically a relay box,
simply solder the 1/4 or 1/2 watt resistors
inline on the DLR's neg output wires.

Also see how it's done through 2 negative
relays at: http://documents.audiovox.com/700649.pdf

I hope this solves the delema, and next time,
come here to get your stuff! Lol

Good luck on this.
