Car Alarms: ultra start 1270XR, 2006 nissan sentra, nissan sentra

Question
Hello,

I supplied my installer with the bypass, he said he didn't use mine and he didn't need one.

Now as for the lights on the antenna, I have an ultra start U1256M installed in my 2003 toyota corolla and the led lights stay on constant as well, but it starts just fine.

Thanks for any help.

Hello, we just had an ultra start U1270XR installed into our 2006 Nissan Sentra. It worked fine for the 1st day and on the second it worked for 3/4 of the day and now nothing. You push the buttons and the remote buttons light, but the parking lights are supposed to flash to tell you whats wrong, they dont. There is an antenna afixed to the inside of the windshield with 2 little led's they are lit, but I cant find anything in my manual regarding these led's. Our installer didn't install the universal bypass, I was told these cars needed one. However it worked for the 1st day without having the bypass. Dont you think if it truly needed the bypass it wouldn't have worked the 1st day. Thanks, sorry so long any help would be appreciated.

To my knowledge, ALL of the 2006 Sentra's have a transponder that would need to be bypassed for remote start.  Now, there are bypasses that do not require a key in a box type bypass, take a look here: http://bypasskit.com/product.aspx?prodid=PKN2 this one will bypass without consuming a key, so it is possible your installer used something similar.

If those little lights are lit solid, it sounds like you may have put the system into valet/override mode.  If you have the owner's manual for your system take a look at it and see if there is an override or valet mode.  If you cannot find it, call your installer and ask him/her how to operate the override mode.

Answer
If the system is in override mode the vehicle will act as if nothing was installed.  I do not have access to a U1256M manual so I can not be of further assistance other than to tell you to read the manual and see how to take the system out of this mode so that it will return to normal operation.
