Car Alarms: Viper Car Alarm--How T o Reset Remote?, replacement transmitters, programming instructions

Question
Hello!  I have a viper fcc#EZSDEI474V installed in my 97 Honda Accord. When changing the battery to the remote, the silver piece that holds the battery down, pulled out.  I had to tape it to hold it in, in order to use.  About 3 weeks later, i could'nt open my car door with the remote.  I used my key on the passenger side to get in, the alarm sounded, and would not stop.  The remote is fixed, green light comes on when you press a button, but it does'nt shut the alarm on or off, so i had to unplug a wire under my dash to stop it.  If you plug the wire back in, the alarm goes off again.  I do know where the valet button is.  Can it be reprogrammed or do i need another remote?
