Answer
There are usually 2 modes, passive and active.

In most alarms, there is either a dip switch,
a control tab, or programing switch and
a procedure to toggle back and forth between
the 2 modes. Not knowing the alarm you have
makes this difficult as you MUST have the
method followed exactly as the install manual
states, or you can not make any changes as to how
it operates. I suggest either trying to identify
the system, then contacting the manufacturer
for the manual if you don't have it, or removing
the system and replacing it with one you can control
and does what you want and when.

Makes sense right?

I hope you can locate the alarm manufacturer
to help with this. Also you can try
www.REMOTESUNLIMITED.com to see if you can
identify the alarm using the remotes FCC. ID.#
on the back.

Good luck with it.
