Car Alarms: Car alarm on 98 Hinda Civic EX, car alarm system, engine cranks

Question
It is not an aftermarket alarm, as far as I can tell it is stock from Honda. I am experiencing no spark to the plugs. Again, could the alarm disable spark to the plugs. No lights flashing, horn honking, etc.

Yes, it is a factory alarm that I can set off with a panic button so I know that it works. The engine cranks over great, just no spark to the plug wires???

-----Question-----
My car won't start, could my alarm be causing that? It turns over fine but there is no spark to the plugs and I have checked most everything, from replacing the ECM and distributor with good used ones?? I also replaced the crank position sensor with a new one.
Any help would be great!

Is there a a car alarm system on this
car that you know of? If so, it may be in tamper
mode, and has a starter kill relay inline.

Please advise as to this
as you may simply need to locate the starter
kill relay, cut it out of line, and re attach
the starter wire.

-----Answer-----
Then short of replacing the fuel injectors, this
is not an aftermarket alarm issue.

Please tell me what you are experiencing.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Answer
Ok, well there is no way to control it other
then the factory remote if it's equipped that way.
I have not come up to a 98 Civic with a factory
alarm to my knowledge, but according to one of
my databases, they are saying the dealership can
program a remote to it if it came equipped that way.
If it did, that would be the only way I can think of
to disarm the system, if that indeed is whats
holding you up that is.

But that's all I have on a "factory" remote.

Good luck.
