Car Alarms: Remote Started draining battery, honda pilot, start ups

Question
I got a remote started last Christmas.  It was working fine until recently.  It doesn't always want to start.  Today my car wouldn't start at all (@005 Honda Pilot..36,200mi).  It also caused the interior light to stay on.  Do you think the remote starter could be draining my battery?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Answer
Hard to say without inspection, but the best way to find
out is to unplug it. Then charge up the battery and
go a couple of days monitioring the performance and
start ups. If no drain, have the tech or you, yourself,
redo the wiring and look for the relay that is causing
the drain. Ususally it's a minor thing like a diode that
is not working, or a relay that is stuck open,
But the only way to know is to unpower the remote start
to discount it as the cause. If no drain after that,
then you'll know. If there is, you have another issue
to work out.

Let me know what you discover.
