QuestionFactory alarm...lights, horn, don't remember seeing a "SECURITY" sign, but it may have been there.

Factory alarm malfunctioned. Activated with doors unlocked and even with key on. Pulled enough fuses to shut it off. Replaced fuses and now I can't get car into programming mode to program a new remote. Wondering if alarm and/or RKE system even works now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.
Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.
Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?
Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

AnswerDoes sound as if there is trouble with
the alarm CPU.
Ok, open the drivers side kick panel
to locate and expose the wire pack coming
in from the drivers door.
In it find a BLACK/RED wire, splice into
it and ground to the chassis.
This takes out the OEM alarm for good.
The keyless entry part may or may not still
operate after this is done, but it will most
certainly leave the car defenseless at
this point.
Then I strongly suggeat replacing it
with an aftermarket system that you can
control, has 2 longer range remotes,
and can add alot of features to it like remote start
if you wish.
But for now, remove the factory
alarm from the equation. You can of course
take it to Mitsubishi for inspection/evaluation and
repair, but I can't speak to how much that will cost
you. I honestly do not know.
