Car Alarms: viper security system, battery cables, dash panel

Question
Hi...I have a 94 FOrd Explorer.  I had the starter replaced not to long ago & the mechanic said he disarmed the security system.  I had to clean the corrosion off of the battery cables & when I reconnected the battery, the alarm lights started flashing. It does not blast any sound but the security system indicator light is on...& flashing so the truck will not start.  The toggle switch underneath the dash has no affect on it at all.  Still stays on even after 30 minutes...How do I disengage the system, so I can start it?  Thanks so much for any advice.

Answer
Make sure that you have the ignition switch turned to the run position before flipping the toggle switch.

If you take down the dash panel under the steering column you will see where the after market system was tapped into the factory wiring.  Follow this wiring down till you find the fuses that supply the alarm, pulling these fuses should permanently disable the alarm.
