Car Alarms: Disable 96 Maxima Factory Alarm, keyless entry system, key works

Question
How can I disable the factory alarm on my 96 Maxima?  The remotes have been dead for years.  We had been using the key to lock/unlock the doors.  The locks will not turn with the key now.  I got in thru the trunk... and unlocked the doors. Battery is dead.  When a new battery is connected, the alarm goes off...and car will not start. (key works in ignition)

Answer
Then that's a problem On this one you will have to
either put in an aftermarket keyless entry system
(www.KEYLESSCAR.com) to get around it, or, the
hard way and have Nissan repair/replace the drivers
door lock. Very ($$$)!

They're factory alarm depends on the doors being locked
and unlocked by remote, but with the key out of service
now and the old remote lost, the addition of
an aftermarket system is the best/cheapest way
to go here.

Once installed, and you reconnect the battery, and
the alarm goes off, you would hit the unlock button
on the new remote, and it will disarm it.

That's how we do it here.

Good luck with it.
