Car Alarms: car alarm reset, autowatch, immobiliser

Hi, I have a AUTOWATCH 172 Ri Remote Control Cat 2 Immobiliser and have just changed the batteries, now the alarm wont stop going off even when i press the buttons, so i switched the alarm/immob off from the actual unit but it is still quietly bleeping can you help thanks Lucy

I am not familiar with any of the Autowatch products, but typically with any of the system I am familiar with, if the siren is sounding there is a reason for it.  Whether it be something as simple as the brain needing to be reset to a zone being triggered.  

Is it possible your remote got wet?  Maybe doing a reset of the alarm would help....disconnecting the vehicle's battery for a few minutes can sometimes correct a problem with an alarm brain that locked up.

Make sure the siren did not get wet as well, water can short circuit electronics and make them behave erratically.
