Car Alarms: 1997 Camry (factory) intrusion alarm, intrusion alarm, false alarms

Question
I'm looking for a temporary solution to repeated false alarms. For the past two days the alarm sounds without any input whatsoever.  I am unable to lock the car and need advice to temporarily disable the alarm until a repair can be completed.

Answer
This sounds to me as if you may have a bad door pin.  Does your interior light stay on after you close the doors?  If it does, then try replacing the door pin switch.  This should be a simple repair if it is the switch.

The 97 Camry's factory alarm disarms with unlock and key sense.  The key sense wire is a blue/black wire in the ignition harness that sends a ground when the key is in the ignition.  You may be able to use a toggle switch with one end grounded and the other to this wire, flip the switch and make the car think the key is in the ignition.  This will cause the door chime to go off if your door pin is bad and kill the battery if you leave it on.
