Car Alarms: 1994 Jeep Cherokee, jeep cherokee, wire strippers

Question
My friend locked his new used car. 1994 jeep cherokee. He locked his vehicle from inside, they went hunting and came back to vehicle. He inserted his key in the door to unlock it and the horn went off, he stopped the horn but he cannot start it. He and his wife are on top of a mountain and I need to rescue them. Can you tell me how to bypass the system so I can start it? Please help us if you can... Thankyou...

Answer
Break out the flashlight, a drill, wire strippers,
black tape, and phillips.

Then:

The PURPLE/YELLOW factory disarm wire
is in the harness to the drivers
door, inside the drivers kick, in a
black plug. Locate this wire splice
into it with the same guage wire,
then ground it to a solid chassis point.

This takes out the factory alarm for however
long you keep this wire grounded.

It is the only way I know of to get around
the factory alarm system in this truck.

If it's an aftermarket system,
then that's another story.

Let me know what happens.
Interesting.
