Car Alarms: Subaru Outback, subaru outback, columm

Question
My car alarm has a mind of its own. It has randomly been going off for quite a while, yet the frequency of these episodes has dramatically increased in the past few months. At this point I really just want to know how to take the alarm out (When my car was actually broken into a few weeks ago, there was no car alarm activity to be found!) I know how to reset the alarm when it is malfunctioning (the little button under the dash) but I really want to know how to disconnect the system. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer
Well, if valet overide is not fuctioning correctly,
my best suggestion here is to remove the
alarm altogether and start fresh. Locate
the alarm brain under the dash area,
near the steering columm, and unplug
the harnesses.

That will solve the first issue, but I do
suggest replacing it with another one
that is working well to cover the car.
It is relatively easy to steal  this vehicle.

Good luck with it.
