Car Alarms: Cherokee keyless entry, jeep cherokee sport, jeep cherokee

Question

I just bought a used 1999 jeep cherokee sport and am trying to
have keyless entry put in it.  the dealership looked up my vin
and said the jeep had the system in it but when i went to have
them program it, they said they couldn't find a computer
(module?) in the jeep to program.  i have both power locks and
windows. do you have any idea what could be wrong? thanks.

Answer
Probably was not asked for when it was originally
sold, so the module is not there.

If you have power locks, you can get an aftermarket
system for 40.00 and have it installed for
about the same money.

Would do alot better then the Jeep stock system
and is available in my store
