Car Alarms: Chevrolet trailblazer factory preset alarms, chevrolet trailblazer, rf interference

Question
Is it true that the newer model Chevrolet Trailblazer trucks with the factory preset alarms can be disabled just by going onto military bases? My friend is having a big problem with these things.

Answer
Unlikely. But these days, who could know. If the
military is using a sonic dispersal net, or a
RF signal blaster to protect from evesdroppers,
then it's possible, but again that's reaching.

No it's more likely his vehicle is having issues.
1. are you certain it's the factory alarm?
(ie: vehicle OEM horn and HEADLIGHTS will honk
and flash) Rather then aftermarket using
the parking lights and a siren.

2. If aftermarket, RF interference may be the culprit,
but the FCC states you must allow for interference
at times. Replacing it with another or a different
system might solve the trouble.

Other then these explainations, and given that
we are talking about a military base (who knows)
I am a loss as to HOW it would "disarm" an alarm.

I'd be interested in seeing what answer he/you come
up with to explain it.

Good question. Never had that one before.
