Car Alarms: how to disarm factory installed alarm in 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, jeep grand cherokee laredo, jeep grand cherokee

Question
We have resorted to not locking the car at all. However, now it goes off even when it's not locked and while the horn stops the lights don't shut off or reset. Just drains the battery. My daughter was given this car and really needs it for work. Can't afford to buy her another so if I can figure out how to disconnect the alarm permanently that would be great! Any help you can give would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks jo

Answer
Dear ms Jane,
I need you to disable the car's factory
alarm system to solve this issue. Ok,
please locate the FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE which is a purple/yellow |-| in the driver kick panel area,
in a black plug. You will need some simple
tools to do this yourself.

Once found, splice a wire into it, then ground that wire to the body of the car. That will keep the factory alarm disabled for good. Put some black tape on the splice point
to keep the wiring safe.

That's all there is to sole your false alarm issue.

I do suggest however she replaces the factory system with
an aftermarket system for continued protection.

Let me know how it goes for you.
