Car Alarms: What to buy from Alarmtek? So many choices!, mark wiley, chevrolet silverado

Question
Hi Alarmtek, What is 2 way paging and its purpose?
Also, my truck does not have the passkey 2 system. I have a plain ignition key without a resistor pellet.
Thanks again,
Mark Wiley

Question -
Hi Alarmtek, I want to purchase a reliable long range remote start keyless entry system for my truck. I really don't need an alarm. I have a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, Ext-Cab, 4.3 V6, Automatic,w/pwr windows and locks.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mark Wiley

Answer -
There are alot Mark. Glad you asked.
If no alarm is required and you want long range,
I would go with the Galaxy/Astra 1000 2 way from
Scytek. It comes with 2 way paging
(approx 2000 foot range). (99.95) Good
reliable system, not too hard to install,
and has a lifetime limited warranty from
the factory.

See it at www.startbyremote.com

This truck will also need a self learning
GM PASSKEY 2 bypass module for the ignition
immobilizor you have, to engage remote start
(nec. regardless of remote starter choice!)

Plus 2 relays to do the locks in the
2004 Silverado properly.

The only change I might make would be in
the remote starter if 2 way, long range paging
is not required. If 600 feet or less will do,
I would opt for the Galaxy/Commandstart 2000.
Easy install, and does all the same things,
except paging for 69.95. ( on sale currently)

Let me know if I can put together a package for
you, and ship it out immediately.

Have a good day.

Answer
Mark,
2 way paging is a status/monitoring key chain
remote that detects the car alarm signals and
reports them (1 way) then to disarm, you press
the unlock/disarm button. (2 way) It is designed
for longer range monitoring.
See www.PAGINGALARM.com for more.

And not to be difficult, but ALL GM trucks from
1998 up have one of 2 forms of PASSLOCK. You don't
see the chip anymore. It's in the black of the key,
but I assure you, it's in there. Best way to
prove it is to try to make an ignition key for it.

You will find that if you can get one made,
it will not start the truck. You will need to
have it made at/by GM. To remote start this vehicle,
the bypass module is required. Have a look at
www.PASSLOCKBYPASS.com (really-not kidding!)

Anyhow, I hope this helped.
