Car Alarms: Alarm Siren, car horn, amperage

Hi, My siren on my system just failed after a long time of service everything else seems its working. instead of replacing the siren would it be better to rewire system to use horn. Do you think it is better to use the horn or siren?

It really will depend on the car, the amperage, and the outputs on your alarm. I personaly would use the horn.

In some cases, you could wire directly, but in most, a relay will be required to properly wire in an aftermarket
alarm to an OEM car horn. To see how
