Car Alarms: Excaliber Freedom 500 alarm question., brain box, 12volt

Question
I have an excaliber freedom 500 alarm.  When I unplugged the harness to relocate the "brain box" to the alarm and went to plug it in I heard something that sounded like a fuse popping.  All fuses in alarm system and car are good however.  The constant 12volt wire is not receiving power like it should and the vehicle will not crank nor display any signs of power when key is in the accessory position.  Do you have any idea what it might be?    Thanks for the help.

Answer
Check your master fuses under the hood and replace the
one that blew out. Also check the inline fuses on
the alarm system to see if they intact as well.
But it's more likey that the car's master fuse for the acc
is shot.

It sounds as if there was a short caused by touching
an exposed wire to metal, causing the trouble.

Good hunting!
