Car Alarms: 99 Buick park ave remote start..., buick park ave, alarmtek

Question
Hi,
My car is in great shape, relatively new (6 years old) and everything has always worked fine since I owned it. But now it has some problems. I have two remotes with the following: One has lock/unlock/trunk release/remote start....The other has lock/unlock/trunk release/alarm. The first one say's crimestopper on it, the second is GM factory. Everything had worked fine with these two until about a week ago. Now the car won't remote start anymore. I replaced the batteries in both, seemed logical since we hadn't replaced them before, but no luck there. Still didn't work. All other functions work on the remotes. I sat in the car and used the remote start button and all I hear is two double clicks coming from the dash somewhere, probably underneath from a relay possibly. I was wondering what might be causing the remote to not start. Is there a relay or something else that I need to look at or am I looking in the wrong area? Thanks with your help.

Answer
It appears you somehow went into valet overide.
Locate the valet switch, usually found under]the dash,
turn on the ignition key, press and hold the valet button until you get a response from the alarm.

Turn off the key. It should have reset the system, allowing
for remote start and alarm. If not, contact
your local crimestopper dealer for some service/support on it.

Good luck with it.
Let me know what happens.
