Answer -
Yes it does need a 30 amp relay.
See adding ignitions at www.RELAYHELP.com
and apply here. Mot a pain, but why not
get support from your seller on this?

Is'nt his responsibility to get this done for you?

Followup:

Sure, I guess it would be but I bought the system from a third party.

OK, I have a small and final question here.

I have the relay to IGN2 connected properly now, after some hours of research (I'm a marine biologist, not an auto electrician!). Everything works as it should, excpet when i activate the remote start ... the engine cranks but does not fire.

I'm thinking I have a wrong connection somewhere, but as far as I can see everything's connected as in the manual.

Do you know what would cause this? Should the relay output be connected to IGN1 as well as IGN2, or perhaps the START wire?

If I can't fix this I'll leave it the way it is and just disable the remote start, but I'm sure I'm only a step away from having it working. I'd appreciate a kick in the right direction!

Sorry for being a doofus ...

Cheers,

Answer
Sounds as if you may have missed the wires needed.
try re aligning them to these:

Start: BLACK/WHITE IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition  #1: BLACK/ORANGE IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition  #2: BLUE/RED IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Accessory: GRAY IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

all must be powered properly.

Let me know what you come up with.
also ,make sure the tach is correct, and if
you need to teach it to learn the rpm rate,
locate that procedure in your manual.
