Car Alarms: Viper Alarm 473V, jeep wrangler, chirps

Question
I have a Viper alarm on my 2000 Jeep wrangler  I just bought
that has been wired to lock / unlock the doors when arming and
unarming.

When I arm the car, about a minute afterI walk off the alrm
chirps about 8 times then pauses for about 2 minutes then
chirps 8 times again.  It usually does this about 2-3 times and
then the siren goes off.

What is the 8 chirps and how do I fix this from doing this, Can I
set the alrm to do everything except chirp and siren?

Thanks....

Answer
It appears the alarm is detecting an open circuit
in the Wrangler and is reporting it. Try reseting
the system, locating and open circuit and turning it off,
then, try it again. If you still are experienceing the chirps, take it to a tech for removal.

Good luck.
