Car Alarms: Swap Question, donor car, remote start

Hello,

I recently recovered my stolen 1998 Camaro. It has the passlock system on it, which didnt stop the thief at all. However, now I'm having problems with this system. When I recovered the car the entire steering column was damaged and the airbag was deployed. I purchased a parts vehicle and used its parts to replace the steering column and airbag onto my car. The parts car also has a passlock system. My problem is that my car will not crank when I turn the key. Everything else works fine. Do I somehow need to use the original key that came with my car? Is there something else that I need to transfer from the donor car? Please help...

I can not offer any help on the repair of the passlock 1 system mechanically. My concern is the bypassing of it to provide remote start. You may want to try
