Car Alarms: Programming A new Remote for a Viper Car Alarm, viper car alarm, fcc id

Question
I have a Python 880XP car alarm with the Responder two way
remotes(the big 4 button with display remote).  The original
remotes over time stopped working. We bought a new remote
for the system.  The new remote is the new improved version of
the previous ones.  Using the instructions that came with the
new remote I have it set up to arm and disarm but not auto
start. Either im not understanding the channel reference chart
on the remote instructions or it doesn't match exactly to the
alarm.

The remote button has the fcc id#EZSDE1478 on the back

How do I program it properly?

Thanks!

Answer
Probably a different frequency alltogether on the newer remote and
will not program up to the current software
in the older unit. I suggest you confirm that wherever
you bought the new remote from, and at
www.directed.com (VIPER's HOME)

It is likely that allthough it seems from appearences,
that it should work, most likely it is a mismatched
frequency that will keep you from setting it up
to control your current alarm. Since these are done
in a batch series, I am 90% certain you'll need
the older remote, direct from DEI to make it work.

Sorry about that.
Good luck with it.
