Car Alarms: Clifford Concept 450, clifford concept 450, e alarm

Question
I am getting a clifford concept 450 installed and was wondering what I should make sure to go over with the installer?  I have also just read that the clifford concept 450 has a Smart Secure Immobilizer which has 2 modes, one with the jumper in that will allow the car to be started if the immobilizer has no power (i.e. alarm removed, fuse blown, or cut wire) and one with the jumper removed that will not allow the car to be started until power is restored.  It seems leaving the jumper in will compromise security, do you have any recommendations?

Answer
The specifics as to what is done here depends
on the make, model & year of your vehicle,
and what OEM security you might currently have.

Your installer should go over the veriables on YOUR car
prior to the work being done, so the first thing
to ask is "is they're an immobilizer in my
ignition column currently?" Because if there
is, then this alarm is not for you. It would
be overkill, and most of the features would
not be used. In any event, ask the installer what
ever you think is necessary, and also select
to not have the alarm arm itself automatically.
That's another can of worms if not used to it.

Good luck with your choice of alarms.
