Answer
Intermittent range and performance usually means
that the system has a circuit damaged, or that the
eprom in the brain is not getting the signal.
I assume that you've changed the battery in the remote,
and discounted that as an issue right?

Also, If this is an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry
system ("sirened") Then it can be a bad relay,
remote, or brain box. You will need to identify
the alarm by the FCC ID number at www.keylessride.com
or www.remotesunlimited.com  and then trouble shoot.
ie: reposition the antenna, check all connection points
etc...

If any of this helps, let me know, but to tell
you the exact reason why you are experiencing what
you are at the moment, would mean I would need
to inspect it first hand. Short of that, and if all else
fails, it's back up to the Nissan shop for some
imput on they're system.

Good luck.
