Car Alarms: Disabling 94 Maxima alarm, nissan maxima, brain box

Question
Hi!  I recently had work done on my 1994 Nissan Maxima, and presumably when the battery was dis- and re-connected, the alarm system was enabled.  Unfortunately, a while back I lost the key-pad alarm control, so now I am unable to keep the alarm from going off every time I open the door.  I have been pushing (not holding) the valet/override button every time I need to use the car, but was wondering if there was any way to prevent it from sounding the alarm altogether... in other words, I want to 'disable' the entire alarm system.  I read a recent response you gave someone having a similar problem, about holding the valet/override button in, but that didn't work for me; the LED light never came on, and as soon as I got out of the car, the alarm set itself again.  Do you have any other suggestions?
Thank you!

Answer
You need to have the ignition key in the on and
just before cranking position, then press the valet
in for 5 to 10 seconds on most alarms. When
the LED comes on solid, it's in overide.

If this does not work, the only way
to disarm it at that point
is to fish out the brain box under the dash,
and unplug it. That will take care of the
alarm going off. At that point, I would get
a system you can install yourself,
with new remotes to protect it.

That car is way too easy to steal
if left un secured.

I Hope this helps.
