Car Alarms: Disarming 1993 Lexus LS 400 Factory car alarm, lexus ls 400, car doors

Question
I had a new alarm installed in my 1993 Lexus LS 400. The factory alarm stays on when I use the remote to my new alarm to unlock my car doors. I have to use my key to get in. How do you disarm the factory alarm for a 1993 Lexus LS 400?

Answer
That's odd since the factory system SHOULD also
disarm when the locks are unlocked automatically.
I appears that your alarm may not be providing
enough ground when unlocking to do it.

Ok, take it to the installers, and tell him
to locate the GREEN wire coming into the
car from the drivers side door, and either use
the factory (-) disarm wire from your system,
(if it exsists)
or, to add a relay (negative) to the (-) door
unlock wire on your alarm, then to the GREEN wire,
in the wire pack coming in from the drivers door,
to disarm the factory system at the same time the
alarm system is unlocking the door
(see this diagram at www.relayhelp.com under
disarming factory alarms)
or, permanantly ground the green wire
to the chassis of the vehicle,
to disable the factory system for good.

That should solve it either way.

I hope this helps.
