Car Alarms: 1995 ford mustang, dash area, ford mustang

Question
I have a 95 gt mustand with a 5.0 in it. I left the lighrs on and my battery got drained out. I got the car to jump and got home. Later I went to get into my car and the key remote wouldnt work. It lights up but I cant get it to disarm. because of this i cant get the car started. I know that it was installed by ford but dont know if its aftermarket or not. Also there is a little red button underneath my dash that I think I broke trying to disarm my alarm by disconnecting it but I dont know where to start. Thanks.

Answer
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, you found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid, and the
siren chirps once. This should reset the alarm
and allow you to restart the engine.

Hopeflly you can still press in the mechanism in
so you can follow the procedure. If the button
was somehow sheered off, the metal sleeve
inside should still be able to be depressed
long enough using a needle nose plyer possibly,
to do this.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.

That should do it.
If you want to remove it at this point,
take it to your neighborhood installer
for this, or buy the wiring chart for
the vehicle, and reverse engineer it wire
by wire, until it's safely removed.

If it does not work out this way, you will have
to replace the system with one you know how
to operate and what to expect.

Let me know what happens.
