Car Alarms: Disabling 1998 Subaru Outback Limited Car Alarm, subaru outback, security light

My 1998 Outback alarm was supposedly "disabled" by the dealer, but it still goes off seemingly randomly from time to time.  In an answer to another question you talked about a wire to ground to the chassis to disable it permanently, but I wasn't able to find that wire based on your description.  Can you give me more details as to what I'm supposed to look for to ground out to the chassis.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I do need to figure out which
is going "off".
Please describe what is happening at that point.
Siren or car horn going off?
Headlights flashing, or parking lights?
is there an LED in the dash that blinks,
or a security light?
Is there a switch under the dash taht appears
MOT FACTORY? Push type or, flip type switch?
