Question -
HI,
I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME. I HAVE A PLYMOUTH BREEZE 98. LAST MONTH MY CAR WOULD NOT START AND I DID WHAT YOU ARE TELLING EVERYONE TO DO WITH THE VALET BUTTON AND THE KEY. THIS TIME IT IS NOT WORKING. MY SENSOR UNDER MY DASH IS NOT LIGHTING UP. MY DRIVER WINDOW WILL NOT GO UP BECAUSE IT IS HOOKED UP TO MT ALARM. MY SENSOR ON MY WINDOW IS NOT COMING ON AND MY REMOTES ARE NOT WORKING. I CANNOT START MY CAR. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO. ALSO I HAVE A BLACK PUSH BUTTON BY MY LEFT FOOT AND A ON/OFF BUTTON BY MY KNEE. DO YOU THINK THAT THE ON/OFF BUTTON WAS A FACTORY ALARM AND THE PUSH IS THE VIPER ALARM? THANK YOU.
Answer -
This appears to be a power problem now. Not an alarm issue.
Check to see if you have power. Try jumping
the car. The reason I say this, is you have
not power at all. If you did, the windows would go
up, regardless of the alarm or not as
long as the interior switch is getting power.

Is that happening? Is anything powering up
when you turn on the key?

Make sure the transmission gear shifter in in P.
To start with (it happens) and then try your headlights
etc... If you are getting power there, you
need to have that alarm removed. It has
a serious malfuntion, and is causing a cascade
type problem through out the car's electrical
system.

I am leaning towards a bad battery though,
or alternator. It's unlikely that an alarm that
has been working flawlessly, has somehow, suddenly
gone haywire. It's more likely an electrical
or, mechanical issue and the alarm is reacting
accordingly.

Tell me what you find out.

Answer -
well, you seem to have 2 valets.
Try the spring loaded one first.
Key on, press and hold the valet switch
in for up to 6 seconds. When the LED
in the dash comes on solid, This is overide.
You should be able to start the car.

If it were a switch (toggle type) it's key on,
flip the switch the other way, then key off.
You should be able to start the car.

If no joy there, you will need to get some
help to locate the brain box, and unplug it.
This would indicate the alarm is bad. If the
starter disable relay dos not disengage at that
point, this too needs to be removed.

Answer
Brings me back to the same thing. You have
another issue other then the alarm here.

This is he last one for the evening as it is 1:00 am
and I am shutting down;

In the ignition column, there is a YELLOW (starter)
wire. On this wire is a relay that is connected
to the alarm. You need to remove it, then
re attatch the ends of the starter
wire. Then the car will start.

At this point, you need to contact
a Viper dealer for assistance.

I don't sell or install they're products, and I
am kind of limited here as to how much support
I am willing to provide on my competitions
alarm systems.

Good luck with it, and I hope it
all works out for you.

Night.
