Car Alarms: cant find the VIPER valet button, viper car alarm, kia sephia

Question
Thanks very much. I found the valet button around the kick panel and I can start the car now.
The button just works like a remote. In order to start the car, I need to first press the button and then start the car. (turning the key to ignition and then pressing the button doesn't work.) It seems that I did not disable the alarm coz I need to press it everytime when I start the car.

The LED light is off after I start the car. I can't make the light steady glow as you mentioned.

I want to confirm with you:
you don't need to take off the plastic covering to find any possible kind of valet buttons
you need to take off the plastic covering to find the alarm brain.

thanks.

where is the brain and what does it look like? how to unplug it? pls advise. i want to disarm them forever by myself without pulling off any wires wrongly if possible.

the alarm was discabled by dealer before but it was enabled (don;t know why and how) after a mechanic replaced a tire.

Question -
i am not the first owner of the car so i don't know much about the viper car alarm that installed. i lost my remote and can't start the car (KIA Sephia 98). I read your article and get to know what to do but i can't find the valet button. what are they usually look like? Where are they usually located? All i can find are some wires ended with plastic hood.

i tried toggle (on and off) style. Do you mean that key on -->Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward all the way just before cranking.
flip switch in opposite direction---> turn off
key off---> release the key?

Thanks a lot.
Answer -
On the toggle switch, if you located this
under the dash area, and perfomed this
valet soultion, it should reset the system.

If it's a spring loaded type button switch,
it would commonly be installed in the drivers
left foot/knee area.

But if not responding at all, You need to get up
under the dash and unplUg the alarm brain.

That should take care of it, and then
replace it with something you understand
and can use from the beginning.

Let me know if you can find it.

Answer -
Ok, you will need some tools.
1 drill with a phillips head bit.
1 10mm ratchet with extention to
get the metal knee panel off behind
the plastic covering under the dash board.

Carefully remove these and look up to the left
next to the steering column area. The brain box
will be different for the factory componants,
It will be black in color, approx 4 by 3 by 1 inch
and will have wiring harnesses going into it.
Unplug them all. Your car should start at this point.

If not, the relay that was installed for starter
kill needs to be removed, and the 2 ends of the
starter need to go back together. But for now,
let's worry about that when you get to that point.
Just get the brain unplugged and we'll go from
there.

Answer -
That is correct.

Welcome
Answer -
Sure it's possible, but then it creates the
trouble you are having now.

You will need to remote the harnesses
to the alarm now if no valet is available.

Answer -
Probably a 10 to 14 pin connector for main power.

I don't sell or install Viper products
so I am limited to what I can help with
here. The advice is fairly Generic.

Answer
Ok now that it has started,
get over to the local Viper dealership A.S.A.P.,
and have them go over what it does,
and how to control these features.
As I said, I am limited here since
I don't sell they're products in my stores.
I am not the authority on your alarm system.
They will, (under they're guaranty) do this for free
(or should according to the DEI policy)and
you will better understand what to do with it
in the future.

Glad we at least got you going now.

Good work!
