I have a Rattler model 310D car alarm installed in my Mercury Cougar. My problem is my alarm goes off when i turn the key in the ignition. The alarm works normal besideds that.

This started just after i reinstalled the alarm. I had to take it out because when i was washing my car it went off, and i couldnt turn it off with the remote or key in the igintion method. I think i may have got water under the hood and shorted some wires. When i reinstalled it every thing worked except when i turn my key in the ignition it activates.

How do i reset this. I tried disconnecting my car battery. I also tried taking out the alarm and reinstalling it.

I dont have a starter interrupt or a valet switch installed on it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Answer -
The valet IS what will reset it for you.
You need to have this or you can not reset the system.
Contact the people you bout it from to
get one, then follow they're procedures to reset it.

When you pulled the power, you may have also
lost programing on the remotes, and you will
need the valet to reprogram them as well.

Sorry about that. Unplug it until
you get a valet/overide switch,
or deal with this as is.

I have taken it out several times befor and reinstalled it and everything worked normally. except this time. i had this alarm for over a year and bought the car from another private owner who installed it and he had no problems with the system. i did take the rattler case off this time and wiped the circiuts dry. not sure if that would trigger something? any idea on the issue, because i know this model works withount the valet overide switch.

Answer
No sorry,
Short of that, I don't have any idea with Rattler.
Valet may be controlled by remote, but
you need to talk to a DEI guy since I don't
sell them.

It is a DEI piece so try going to my forum
to see if someone there can assist.

Good luck with it.
