Car Alarms: 95 Mazda Millenia S Alarm Trouble, 95 mazda millenia, mazda millenia s

Question
I just had the engine replaced in my 95 Mazda Millenia S (2.3L w/Miller Cycle engine).  The car seems to run fine now, but when I got it home and locked it, the alarm went off within 15 minutes or so.  When I put the key in and unlocked the car, the alarm stopped.  This happened again tonight.  The car is now unlocked to keep the alarm from sounding.  I have never used the remote for the car and am currently using the valet key (just because it is thinner on my key ring).  Is there an easy way to get my alarm working properly again?  I have never had trouble with it, but suspect the mechanic disconnected or reconnected something incorrectly as he was replacing the engine.  I will take it back to the shop next week to have it fixed if I can't do it myself.  Thanks so much for your help!  Mike

Answer
Ok they probably need to reset it at Mazda,
but if you feel adventurous you can get a simple
aftermarket keyless entry system and try this:
Through a negative trigger adding
a 1K (1000 ohm) resistor will lock the doors and arm the factory security.  Negative trigger on the same wire will unlock all doors and disarm the factory security.  Test using the passengers door key cylinder switch with all doors closed.  To disarm with out unlocking, send a positive trigger to the blue/yellow key sense wire.  The key sense wire is located at the steering column.

If not, then take these notes to your local Nissan
shop, and have them sort it out for you.

Good luck.
