Car Alarms: Car Alarm Horn not sounding after car battery went dead, black widow alarm, valet mode

Question
The car battery died on my '99 Honda Civic.  Once we jumped it and got it started, the alarm horn will no longer chirp when armed or disarmed.

It is a Black Widow alarm.  Was on the care when we bought it several months ago.  No manual came with the car.

The red light stays on and no does not blink.  The car lights will flash once or twice depending if the car's being armed or disarmed.  No chirp.

I've tried to press and hold the valet button thinking it might be in valet mode.  that didn't seam to work.  Tied with the key in the on position and off position.

I'd be greatful for any ideas you may have for me to try.

thanks.

Answer
The car alarm seems to be in Valet mode though.
If the LED is on solid, and no response from
the remotes, I would try again to get out
of the valet mode.
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.
(in your case, the LED will go out
and the siren should confirm it with chirps)

This should turn off the valet mode.

Just Repeat these steps to
re valet your system when needed for service.

That should do it.

Let me know how it goes.
