Car Alarms: WHERE IS MY 96 ECLIPSE ALARM RELAY???, starter wire, alarm relay

Question
okay, here goes. i have a 1996 Mits Eclipse RS. I have a alarm system I think is stock. i installed an aftermarket horn because the old one was didn't sound. well now, my battery keeps draining. i checked my car for continuity with a test light and i believe its the alarm system, because the light went bright when the alarm chirped one last time and never the light never went out. now i'm thinking the relay(s) is bad and i'm sure it's under the driver side dash, but i don't know where or which relay or relays is for the alarm. CAN YOU HELP?  GO NAVY!

Answer
No stock alarm so that's discounted. And if
you installed an aftermarket alarm, it's likely
that the ONLY relay that was installed here
would be for starter kill. If done wrong, that
can cetainly drain the battery.

Most aftermarket alarms come with negative door lock
outputs, and in your car, would not require a relay,
nor would you put one in for trunk release. It's
a mechanical system and ins not applicable.

Locate the starter wire, and remove the relay that
is inline. Re attatch the starter wire ends, and
see if this corrects the situation. Also be
sure you are on the correct power wires. If all
else checks out and you still have trouble,
contact the people who sold the alarm to you
for support on it.

Good luck with it.
