Car Alarms: ny remote for my car alarm is not workin, daewoo leganza, dash area

Question
I HAVE A DAEWOO LEGANZA SE, 1999, AND IT WAS FINE UNTIL TWO DAYS AGO WITH MY REMOTE CONTROL FOR THE ALARM AND DOORS ENTRY.  NOW I HAVE TO OPEN THE CAR WITH THE KEY, BUT THE ALARAM STAR AND DOESNT STOP UNTIL I PULL A BATTERY CABLE.  I NEED TO FIND THE PLACE TO STOP THE ALARM. THIS IS A FACTORY ALARM THAT CAME WITH THE LEGANZA.
PLEASE HELP.

Answer
No The Leganza does not have a factory alarm system.
You are dealing with an aftermarket system, probably
installed at the dealership prior to sale.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area in most cases,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.

That should do it.

Let me know what happens.
