Car Alarms: 2004 Ford F150 car alarm, ford f150, code alarm

Question
I just bought a 2004 Ford F150 XLT.  It came with the standard Ford ignition disabling system (blinking light on top of the dash).  There was no listing on the window sticker for an alarm system. I notice that it also has an indicator light on the lower dash panel that blinks. (It looks added on.) When locked, the horn will start honking when door handles are jerked and when the truck is bounced, bumped, etc.  Locking the doors without the remote will also cause the horn to beep once every 5 minutes or so.  I asked the dealer if an alarm system was installed and if so, where are the instructions?  The sales manager said that some are ordered that way from the factory, but he didn't know if mine was one.  He said they would look into it, but so far, no info.  There is nothing in the owner's manual. Sounds like I have a "real" alarm system, but where do I get the instructions?
Thanks!

Answer
Yes, absolutely the alarm should have been zip
tied up to the harnesses next to the steering
column. It appears from this description that
it was simply thrown into the vehicle last minute.
It's definately the responsibilty of your
dealership to secure and repair this system.

Code Alarm is now a product of DEI
(makers of viper). Go to www.directed.com to
start your search for info on this system.

Good luck with it.
