Car Alarms: Car Alarms, antenna head, antenna wire

Question
I have an ASTRA 777 alarm system, and the alarm works great.  However, my range is about 10 FEET.  I had the alarm-antenna relocated to ontop of the dash facing the mirror, on the drivers side.  However, if im on the passanger side and even 2 feet away from the car on the passanger right-rear corner (next to tail-lamp) I can't have disarm/arm it, i have to be real close to the car on the drivers side.

Is there anyway to increase range? I placed the unit according to the instructions, and had it prof. installed after that, still no luck.

Any help would be great, thanx!

Answer
K, do me a favor. Remove the antenna completely and
do a line check. Make sure there are no kinks, crimps,
breaks etc... Then move the antenna head to the middle
of the windshield, just above the mirror with
the antenna points in a horizontal to the top
configuration. Then run the antenna wire into
the headliner, then down the drivers side pillar
to the alarm brain. If this does not correct the
situation, you will need to remove them both,
(antenna and wire) and send back for replacement.

Let me know how it goes.
