Car Alarms: car wont start, no keypads, alarmtek, car wont start

Question
I just bought a 91 mustang 2 weeks ago. i was trying to locate the factory dash speaker wires on the drivers side and hit a little toggle switch on the lower kickpanel area, I flipped it back up, then when I went to move my car in the garage, I put the key in, and the parking lights and dash lights flashed 2 times. now the owner who sold me the car never said anything about an alarm because he only gave me 2 factory keys. I assumed there was, or used to be, an alarm because there is a red led light on the cluster, that to turned solid red, so i flipped the switch again, and the lights flashed and the red light went away, but my car wont start now. i tried to trace wired, and found the alarm box, it is clear plastic, with what looks to be like a long raised letter A on it? So now my car is sitting in the driveway unable to start, what can I do? I would like to take out the whole alarm sytem because it looks really old as well, and there are some many taped off loose wires, I dont know what is what...I hope i didnt pull anything out when i was looking for the factory speaker wires, but then again, i never saw the lights flash off and on, and the led light come on. thanks

Answer
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds,
(Your valet switch is the toggle (on/off) type.
flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.

That should do it.

Let me know what happens.

ALARMTEK
PS. Once done, I would get a system
you understand from the begiing, so your
car alarm experience does not surprize you
any further.

Good luck
