Car Alarms: car alarm/kill switch, thealarm, starter wire

Question
I ahd to change the fuel pump on y 1995 Ford E150. Afer installin it and re-attaching the battery I found that I got no power to the pump. I could not find out why so I cut te line and ran another wire to the pump. Now  can't get the ignition to turn. So I replaced the starter and solineode as well as wiring. Still theignition wont turn over at all. I have an after market alarm on the van, what compny I don't now I baught the van used. I'm guessing thas it may be a passive kill from thealarm keeping the van from starting. PLEASE help with any info you have.

Answer
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area in most cases,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.
Keep in mind though, this does not solve the issue
you have with the ignition system. If you still
have no joy on that then you will first,
need to remove the relay on the starter wire that
is attatched to the aftermarket alarm, then reattatch
the starter wire back the way it was before the
alarm went in. At least this way, you will find
out if the alarm is the source of the troubles.

See starter kill relays at www.relayhelp.com to
see a guide of what to look for.

Good luck with it.
