Car Alarms: location of microwave sensor, microwave sensor, nissan skyline

Question
hi, im installing an steel mate 888 paging alarm in my 1990 nissan skyline. can u tell me where the best place to put the microwave sensor and the shock sensor as the instructions that came with my alarm were in chinese. thanks

Answer
Ok, think about the microwave sensor as being
an omnidirectional antenna that you can adjust
to the environment (mass) of a car. The best
then and now, would be the closest to the
center of the vehicle as possible, where it
can be hidden from sight, say under the center
console, facing up. and no metal obstructions since
the center console is primarilly plastic.

Throw out the shock sensor. Normally on Steelmate
alarms, it's only a single stage and will false
alot. Rely on the motion and the door triggers on
this car. That will be more then adequate.

Finally, consider that the alarm is designed as
a deterrent. Make certain you install the
starter disable relay that they included for the
best protection it can provide you.

Good luck with it.
