Car Alarms: Installing Jeep Alarm, microwave sensor, discount auto parts

Question
I own a 1999 Jeep Wrangler and I bought a commando FM-870 alarm and a Dual zone microwave sensor for it.  I'm not sure where the best place is to put the microwave sensor.  I have a Tuffy Steel security console, I'm not sure if putting it under that will work.. I also read a newsgroup post by someone else who had a similar system in their jeep that they installed 2 switches under the dash, one that will disconnect the perimeter trigger output from the alarm and one to set when he has the doors removed... (when removing the doors I usually pull out the fuse that controls the some light and door switches, i wouldnt want the alarm to go off in this case)  When it rains, I would want a way of turning off the microwave sensor while leaving the rest of the alarm "active".  Any suggestions on how I could do this?
Thanks for your help.

Answer
Well, with the steel center console, this is problematic,
and yes you can certainly put the microwave sensor on
an on and off switch, but as far as placement, you are
now limited. I have placed them in the roll bar, center
pack, facing down and have had success with that way.
Alot more wire but once done, set's up well.

I would do that first before placing it behind a metal
surface. Try it that way, and go to the local discount auto
parts store for a switch if you like, or
you might get away with it without the
switch if you set it up right. It's all in the
"tweeking."

Let me know where you end up placing it. It's
always a tricky install getting the motion sensor
to do exactly what you want it to do in a Jeep.

Good luck.
