QuestionI am installing an aftermarket alarm which has a factory alarm arm and factory alarm disarm. I need to what wires on the car do I connect them to. Currently both the factory alarm and aftermarket alarm are working.
Also what wire on the car is for the trunk release.
P.S. I did order your wiring diagram but it didn't mention the above.

AnswerThe factory alarm arms and disarms with the
door locks on the EX models.
The LX models arm only with the
factory transmitter.
This means you need to do the door locks or both
alarms will work and the factory system
will set off each time.
On your aftermarket alarm the "disarm" wire
would go to either a transmod bypass that would
be required for remote start , or a disarm wire
for a factory system. In your model, the door locks
need to be done to disarm the factory system
simultaniously. So you do not use either output
for the factory alarm in this case.
If you have done this correctly and the factory system still is going off as well, then I am at a loss as to explain why, but to discount all options,
please make certain you are on the
correct unlock wires in this installation.
It will solve the trouble if you did them correctly.
