I own a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer Extreme.  My blazer didn't come with factory keyless entry or alarm, only the ignition security.  I currently have a Viper 550ESP alarm with the window mod(530T I think) and the factory security bypass for the passlock II or whatever its called.  I would like to upgrade to a 2 way system but I need 4 extra channels:  1 for the windows, 1 for the rear hatch, and 2 for the doors because I shaved the handles.  I would like your advice on the best and most reliable system.  Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tyrell

This one's an easy one.
You want the SCYTEK 5000 RSW 2 way system
with 3000 foot paging range and 2 LCD paging remotes.
Best one out there for this truck hands down since
all you are doing is replacing the brain
and upgrading the exsisting system, it's
all in place and ready to go. You
will just need to match the wires up.

I checked out the Skytec RSW 5000, but the site says it only has 1 aux channel.  My current viper has 2 I think, I use one for the driver's door and 1 for the windows.  I would like 2 more so I don't have to carry an extra remote to pop the passenger door and rear hatch.  Also, my locks are positive output, right?  I don't remember for sure.

Thanks,

Tyrell

Nope it actually has 3 (using a combination, of buttons)

The  second (trunk pop normally)
and
third (white/red wire (-)) you can use for
what ever.

The locks are a seperateissue and would
be included here. No the 5000 rsw is fine.
and if the door locks were already done on the last
one, then it's a simple matter of detatching the old
(-) ouputs on the locks, with the new.
The passenger door can be set up to do double pulse,
(drivers door priority) so the drivers side can
be done on the pirst press of the lock/unlock
button, and the passenger on the second press.
as oposed to having a seperate button specifically
to unlock the pass door, so that solves that issue
of a channel to do the window module if that is your
desire here.

So the short answer is yes this is still the one
to go with for the money.

The next choice is the ULTRASTART 4500 axr
but frankly it is not as flexable and only comes
with 1 LCD remote, and 1 spare 4 button remote.

Nice but not my first choice here. It's 199.95 and
in stock if you want to go that way though.
But if you are ready to go and
If you want it to go out before the
holiday weekend (3 day for me),
Copy cut n paste below to expedite,
and I'll ship it out
tomarrow morn for ya!

Either way,
Have a good/safe holiday

Sorry to bother you again Mr. Martin,

I have one last thing I want to be sure on before I order a new alarm/remote start system.  The single pulse unlock for both doors is fine for me, I am not worried about unlocking the driver's door by itself.  I think you understood that I use an extra channel to unlock the passenger door, that is not the case with my truck.  The reason I want 4 extra channels is because i want 1 for the window mod and 1 for the rear hatch.  I also want 2 seperate channels for the doors because I don't have door handles and use solenoids to pop the latches, the solenoids are activated by relays and I want to be able to pop them seperately but with the same remote I use for everything else.  I hope maybe now I have made it more clear what I am looking for.  Have a safe and good Memorial Weekend and thanks again for the quick replies to my questions.

Thanks,

Tyrell

Answer
Understood. And I can't be certain that I can say that this
will do it at that point. I don't know if it's that flexable. I know the window module is not controlled by
one of the channels. It would work when you armed
the alarm, and roll up any window that is down automatically by sending a negative trigger through the starter kill wire to the neg input of the window module.

The doors can still be controlled normally, or drivers door
priority, so that press once the drivers opens, press twice
the passenger door popper opens. But that's the extent
of they're flexability I think.

The next level would be something like an ALPINE system
for around 650. that will add multple channels, but
I do not carry them. And no idea who does either.

I still think this can be done but if you want
to look around more, I understand.

Have a good one.
